Running a trade on Long Island

What the calls look like here.

Nassau and Suffolk are two counties and two drives. One rail per county keeps a tech from crossing the island for a small job.

Single-family homes mean garages, side doors, basements and sump pumps. Lock, door and plumbing calls are longer jobs with a clear price code.

Summer brings rental turnover on the East End; winter brings no-heat calls. The follow-up runs on the ledger either way.

Customers search by town, not by county. The listing has to name the towns you actually serve.

FAQ

Questions owners on Long Island ask first.

Do you serve Long Island?
Yes. We don't run a company of our own in Long Island yet; builds there run on the same rail we use for our own companies in Brooklyn and the Bronx: reception on your line, dispatch on your WhatsApp, follow-up and money on your own ledger.
Which trades?
Locksmith and intercom, doors and security, plumbing and heating, handyman and repair. Those are the trades we operate ourselves, so the call scripts, job codes and dispatch rules already exist. Adjacent trades are scoped case by case.
Does the agent know local streets and zip codes?
The receptionist is built on your service area: the zip codes you take, the neighborhoods you name, the ones you turn down. It confirms the address on the call, and the zip goes on the job card so the right tech sees it. It does not guess distances or promise arrival times you have not set.
Can it dispatch techs across towns?
Yes. The dispatch rail is a WhatsApp thread where job cards go out with the zip, the job code and the price. You decide which techs sit on which rail, one rail per area or one for all, and the first tech to reply takes the job.
Do I need a new phone number?
No. The receptionist answers on the number your customers already call, usually by forwarding that line. A separate line for one listing or one campaign is a choice, not a requirement.
